FINAL ART PROJECTS
For my art project I did a weaving on the big loom with my partner. I decided to do the big loom because I thought most people did not know about Jordan and if they did not know about Jordan than they may not know what the Jordan flag looks like, so I decided to show them.
These are the materials we used: Red yarn, Green yarn, Black yarn, Wight yarn, needles, scissors, Big loom, and starting yarn. The colors all mean something. The colors I used mean: Red: passion, fire, blood, energizing, bold, strength, stop, powerful, exited, attention. Green: nature, freshness, ecology, calm, diplomacy, good luck, money, greed, envy. White: purity, innocence, cleanliness, truth, divinity, peace, sterility. Black: power, sophistication, contemporary, high quality, death, evil, night. We hope you really enjoyed it. We feel very accomplished. Thank you. We are making the Pebblecreek sign in calligraphy for project Jordan. We are using paint pens, printing press and calligraphy pens. I hope you like are art.

The goal is to see if we can make Old Jordanian art into modern art. I made calligraphy into modern art. The name in the middle is Michael in Arabic.

I designed a Jordan woman’s dress. To start off, the goal of this project is to transform something old into something new. For the past week I’ve been practicing and practicing. I wanted to try something new and different. I made this dress with much pride, and I am very happy with myself , and confident in my work, I used grey thread and, I started out with a grey fabric. I printed two different designs on my dress. One is a flower and the other one is a metric design. It wasn’t easy but I thought ahead and I still made a lot of progress.
The goal of this project is to take something ancient and create it into a more modern work of art. Through this marbleizing, I wanted to shoe my interest of Jordan, and it’s fascinating beauty. I used red, yellow, blue, white, and orange paint to create a swirling work of art! On these two marbleized papers, I wrote with calligraphy pens, “Colors Of Jordan”.

My
project is based on calligraphy. I’m using a piece of felt, black tea and
calligraphy. I’m poring tea on the felt so it has an old look to it. After it
dried I wrote the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in calligraphy on the felt.
That’s what I’m doing for my art project.
Each color has a meaning. The art itself means freedom and being peaceful. The wars that are going on in Jordan’s neighboring countries are interfering with Jordan’s beauty. This picture symbolizes Jordan/s true country.

I made a painting of a camel with a marbleized background using copper, yellow, and red paints. I wrote with Arabic Calligraphy around the edges. The Calligraphy says the word “Camel”. One of the animals that live in Jordan is the camel.

I designed a painting of a Jordan landscape. I began designing in my sketch book on Thursday two weeks ago. This painting represents the peaceful country that Jordan could be if they weren’t stationed in a place that involved a lot of fighting. The stone walls in the side represent the country hiding its peace and beauty. I painted this painting with ultra-soft painting pastels. It took me about three hours to finish. I feel very proud and happy with my work.
Blue Lizard
I have been working on a weaving of a blue lizard for the past 7 weeks and this is it. I have always wanted to do a national animal and here I am finished with a Jorden national animal that lives in the desert. I used cardboard as a background. Then I used a knife to cut lines in the top and bottom 15 slots no more, no less. Then I took 2 types of yarn that looked like a desert. Then I put some beads randomly like a desert with rocks. Then I hand sowed a blue lizard on. |
Straw Weaving
I did this piece of art because I wanted to do a type of weaving that I never heard of. I liked straw weaving because it was done in Jordan. Also because you had to make your own loom. I used the colors of the Jordan flag and used neon colors to make it modern. |
Straw Weaving
The straw weaving inspired me, because of its weaving through the straws. I chose the florescent colors because they are our modern day colors. |
Weaving
The goal of the Predecessors to Pioneers project is for us, the pioneers, to be inspired by the predecessors work. My artist statement is that there should be more peace to Jordan. This message goes out to everyone including King Abdullah II. Jordan has has gone to many wars and they are a great country in a bad area. It is right next to 2 countries that are both at war right now, Syria, and Afghanistan. To give them hope, I have put together this weaving project. I chose 4 happy colors to Jordan. Yellow means joy, blue means amazement, green means acceptance, and orange means interest. All put into one huge project that was inspired by the predecessors. |
