DABKEMusic for the Dabke takes many traditional forms, depending on the event or need, and the country of origin.
Listen to the various Dabke songs from the different countries. Do you notice similarities or differences in the music? For example, the Dabke song "Dal'Ouna" is played in Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine (remember that most Palestinians are forced to live in other countries now). The song is even spelled a little differently in some countries, even though the tile sounds the same. Does the music still sound the same? |
